Oh dear! I just read this thread wondering how the reviews would be!

All those excited posts which resulted in a simple..

"Its shit"

oh well!

Is it still open?!!

The "it's shit" was someone being facetious or cloth-tongued. It's really rather marvellous.

And yes, it's still open.

Where is it? I'm going into the Lanes right now

What's it called again?

Yikk!

I might go for a mint choc chip, cos I'm going to that 'Days'place first that used to be a cinema and then The Toad until it became something else and then now 'Days' for an all you can eat lunch.

Yum!

Days is fucking grim.

The ice cream place is round the back of Donatello's, called Cloud 9

I just had the loveliest lunch at Days and everyone I was with said they loved it too. I had like 3 meals.

I do no eat meat, so I'm pretty happy being ignorant as to the origin of that side of things, although everyone said it tasted very nice and apart from the tail on one of the 'spare ribs' it all looked ok to me.

I will try the Cloud9 place next time, as this trip I had profiteroles.

Yum

Enjoying a meal at Days hereby undermines any food-related opinion you might have expressed in the past or will express in the future.

It's fucking rank. That is all.

It's not rank. It's a cheap buffet with some very nice buffet style food.

I personally do not eat any kind of processed food, ready meals, or tinned food and the like. I cook only from fresh ingredients and know exactly what I put in my food.

In addition to that I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in London and beyond in other countries, so I have a pretty good idea of what good and bad, or rank food is.

So I can say with some confidence that Days food is not rank, given that I had some very nice tasting cheap and cheerful food there today, in very pleasant surroundings, seved by very nice and helpful staff. There was also around 150 other people who didn't seem to have a problem with it, whereas Terre a Terre was completely empty, along with all the other restaurants in the street.

Of course it's not your best ingredients and flavours, but it's bloody good for £6.50 all you can eat.

Thanks 'Days' you made our day.

I hear Lostaura are playing there soon as well folks!

Pleasant surroundings?! I thought you were gay!

It's like sitting in a hotel lobby in Las Vegas, being served two day old vegetable stir-fry with as much taste and appeal as, well, two day old stir-fry. I gave up on mains and moved over to the chocolate fountain, that appeared to contain chocolate from those pound shop easter eggs your auntie always got you rather than paying an extra 20p for Cadburys. The biscuits to dunk were stale, the selection of delicious treats were very much of the just-past-the-sell-by Mr Kiplings. Well not Mr Kiplings, more Asda own brand.

The staff were also shit, refusing to help us get together a table big enough for the party of 8 I was in, so we had to drag the furniture round ourselves. Then they took away plates from people who were still eating, and didn't bother to come and ask us if we wanted drinks.

Frankly, you're right. You do get what you pay for. And when you pay £6.50 for all you can eat, you get shit.

Sounds like you had a pretty awful experience Wuntywun.

I have been just the twice. Once of an evening and once at lunchtime and both times the food was nummy and the staff a delight. I also like all the pretty lights in the ceiling and I like the fountainy thing.

I like the place.

Thank you 'Days' I will be back again!

Kinners is very picky about his hot lunches, I'll have you know. And he always washes them down with some warm beer.
