Free dog walking, roller blades and a camping stove to lend...

This is a slightly cheeky plug for Streetbank.com - a website that lets you see what people in your area are willing to lend or give away - or skills they're willing to share.

There's currently someone in Brighton who is willing to help with dog walking, give away some washable nappies, lend some golf clubs and offer help with classical instrument lessons. Someone is also lending out a variety of DVD's, books and there's also someone giving away roller blades

The site is effectively a giant attic, garden shed, toolkit, fancy dress chest and library - stock full of items to share with or give away to your neighbours. Signing up is easy: new members simply enter their postcode and add one item they would be willing to lend or give away. They then have immediate access to all the items available within 1000 yards of their home. All for free.

Streetbank, although practical, fun and economical is at heart about reconnecting community, alleviating loneliness and making society a little more sociable and a little less independent.

Membership is spreading rapidly - but we'd love your help in making it a success in Brighton.

Streetbank.com - spread the love and thanks for reading!
