Moving to Brighton

I used to live in Brighton but moved 9 years ago. I really want to move back but now have 4 children and all houses big enough for us in Brighton are so expensive! Any ideas where is cheaper just outside Brighton etc or a good place to look for privately rented accomodation??

It'd help to know your budget. Lewes is cheaper, but I couldn't afford a 4 bed house there. Eastbourne is cheaper still, but I couldn't afford a 4 bed house there either.
