Brighton Festival - Bahok - Friday 9th May 2008

Akram Khan is one of contemporary dance's most charismatic talents. After hugely acclaimed duets with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Zero Degrees) and Sylvie Guillem(Sacred Monsters), he now presents bahok, an eagerly anticipated new group collaboration with the National Ballet of China. £6, £10, £15, £20, £25.

For bahok Khan has assembled a dream team. Multi award-winning composer Nitin Sawhney is a long-time partner and new to the fold are the members of China's flagship classical ballet company. The dancers are from different cultures, traditions and dance backgrounds: Chinese, Korean, Indian, South African and Spanish. As they come together in a contemporary Babel of language and movement, this multicultural group tries to share 'the things they carry with them' - their memories of home, their dreams and aspirations. They are carriers. They are bahok.

Another effortless articulation of the evolving language of dance from a true modern master.
