Are you aged 14 - 19? Do you or your band want to write new music, meet new people, try new instruments, sound equipment/software and then after just 3 days perform on a fabulous stage at the Corn Exchange with the assistance of the venerable bassist Herbie Flowers and his team of 9 top professionals,supported by the best sound engineers and lighting men in the business?
Herbie Flowers and his team will help you create and play music of your own choice in an environment of absolute acceptance and encouragement. Wind and string players, who shouldn't be mislead by the title of this course, are especially welcome. Please note, a balanced group of instrumentalists will be chosen for each course, please note All places for Drummers are now full.
Supervised rehearsals take place in fully equipped spaces -equipment courtesy of JHS. Assistance is given with reading and writing chord charts, making arrangements for string, wind sections and backing vocalists and on the structuring of participant's musical ideas.
The course culminates with Friday's 'Big Night Out', a concert in which all 100 participants (from both courses) share the spotlight in a public performance showcasing what they have achieved. Rockshop 1 Mon 4, Tue 5 & Fri 8 Aug. Rockshop 2 Wed 6, Thu, 7 & Fri 8 Aug. For ages 14 - 19.
