Quaker Tapestry Exhibition - Tuesday 9th February 2010, 10am – 4.30pm. Free of charge
The famous Quaker Tapestry, a tale of 350 years of social history, will be on display in a special exhibition early in 2010, at the Friends’ Meeting House in central Brighton. Created by 4,000 people in 15 countries, the Tapestry is one of the world’s largest community textile projects. Thirty-nine of the 77 embroidered panels that make up the main Quaker Tapestry Exhibition will travel to Brighton from their permanent home in Kendal, Cumbria. The Tapestry celebrates social history stretching back to the 17th century.
