Alice Shaw plays at Joogleberry

Alice Shaw plays at Joogleberry
Published 16th Oct 2006 by Carly

A massive talent to come out of Brighton is Alice Shaw; we at Joogleberry knew it from the start, now finally the major labels have got her.

A superb singer songwriter with the most heart melting songs Alice Shaw has been working hard for the past 4 years writing, recording and gigging, and now it seems as though that hard work is beginning to pay off. On the 25th of August 2006 Alice signed her first major contract with Sony/ATV Publishing. Now, a published artist, the future is looking very exciting for the Brighton based singer songwriter. Keep your ear to the ground and watch this space! Alice has been performing at Joogleberry since we first opened and we say ‘Congratulations Alice you are a STAR!!’

Joining Alice in a classic Joogleberry evening of quality are Shiseido Red. Currently working on their first album, they have been described as “One of the best bands presently emerging from the Brighton scene” Phillip Jackson, BBC’s Bright’n Live Whilst Shiseido Red are inspired by a varied range of musicians (including The Beatles, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and The Smiths; to mention but a few!) their sound is distinctively Shiseido Red.

Gary Nock: A delicate, dynamic brand of confessional songwriting whose delicacy, reminiscent of the rock-boy-genius Bright Eyes, effortlessly drifts through a cozy blend of passion and subtle intensity. With influences ranging from Tracy Chapman to Ryan Adams to Leonard Cohen, all buried deep beneath a unique delivery, Gary Nock has crafted himself a genuinely original take on a genre encompassing such talents as Levi Weaver, Chris Tye and Vijay Kishore....Damien Rice comparisons a-plenty...Currently mini-touring Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and London www.myspace.com/garynock
