Beardyman

Beardyman
Published 18th Oct 2006 by Juliet Dubieniec

Although you would have thought his beard would have been a tad longer for someone with a name like this  - His music still rocks and BeardyMan has every reason why, he can pack out venues like the Volks ( Friday 6th October ) BattleJam .

People & drinks alike, were literally spilling over onto his equitment. I was suprised he coped under the pressure.

If you didn't know already, BeardyMan has claimed the title of '2006 UK Beatbox Champion'.

From Stanmore the late 20 year old, went to school, went to Uni and thats all we know really from his early days.

He is 2 times Lyric Pad Champion, London champion and UK runner up 2005, and now, UK Champion 2006! He is a member of drum'n'bass, trip-hop, hip hop, breakbeat collective Abstratctivity consisting of scratch-dj JFB, (Vestax brighton Champion) space-guitarist Jim black (confusious) 3EN, on the 1's and 0's, and many other distinguished guest musicans.

'Battlejam' is his newest project. Its BeardyMan and JFB sampling people and each other and making tunes out of it live. A new concept in HipHop freestyle?!

He's performed to audiences all over the UK and Europe. Hosted nights, mc'd, sung and played all over town and presented Get-lucky T.V's ' Freestyle show' wiv the Klum-z-tung mc, as the Gobfathers.

He hosted the Nokia Basketball Arena in the Earls Court urban music festival, performed with and supported Grooverider, Shy fx, killa kella, Phi-life cypher, General midi, Andy C, Jazzy Jeff, Skinnyman, the Freestylers and your mum (supposivley ) BeardyMan uses live looping to build up layers of sound live. His shows are largely improvised and respond to the audience.

Thus creating one 'spectacular night out'.

You 'must' check out BeardyMan.

Because, hes live AND its improvised.
