Blah Blah Blah Presents Ratatat at Audio
By Kristian Bannister 1st Jul 2008
Blah Blah Blah are proud to present to Brighton, one of our favourite bands on the planet Ratatat at Audio on Friday 25th August. Ratatat are multi-instrumentalist/programmer Evan Mast and guitarist Mike Stroud. A New York based rock-electronica act famed for their dazzling guitar lead tracks set against electronic and hip hop beats. Ratatat are regarded as one of the most exciting and intelligent acts to come out of the East Coast of America in years. Their sound balances the line between a finely honed instrumental rock band and a deeply textured electronic act.
They first sprung onto the scene back in 2004 with their self titled debut “Ratatat”. The album quickly gained cult status due to the sheer innovation in sounds produced by Stroud’s guitar playing and Mast’s astute electronic production. Their follow up “Classics” broke further ground and gave the band international recognition thanks to hit singles such as “Lex”, “Wildcat” and “Loud Pipes”. The band have toured with some of the biggest acts on the planet such as Bjork, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Mogwai and CSS. Last year they had the honour of performing as the opening act on Daft Punk’s tour of America.
Ratatat have also released two albums stacked full of incredible remixes of hip-hop heavyweights such as Missy Elliot, Kayne West, Dizzee Rascal, Jay-Z and Method Man.
This is an extremely rare UK appearance in support of their new album: the critically acclaimed album “LP3”. Make sure you don’t miss out on seeing one of the best indie bands around today.
Tickets are £6 + bf and available from Resident, Rounder and Ticketweb.
