Boxcutter, Tim Wright & Kosmik at the Volks

The Volks club breaks in the New year with a mother of all line-ups for all of those who either had to work on New Years Eve or could'nt get a baby sitter. Saturday 6 January 2007 can be your day to celebrate with Boxcutter (Guitarist and producer Barry Lynn) who became the talk of the dubstep scene in 2005 with the release of his astounding "Brood/Sunshine" single on London's taste-making dance label, Hot Flush. On his second release, Tauhid (Planet-Mu), Lynn continued to revolutionise the garage and breaks sound with a fresh mix of fractured breaks, Eastern inflections and a deep dub sensibility.

He will be playing along side the much anticipated return of Tim Wright (Tube Jerk/Speed Baby/Nova Mute) to our sunny shores for the first time in 10 years. Tim is capable of turning his hand to just about anything. From techno, electro, garage, hip hop, punk and beyond this York based multi-genre-ist fuses sounds and styles like a musical magpie with a taste for circuit boards and gold-plated plugs.

Tim and Boxcutter will be playing there own productions live, so expect to be blown away by there fresh innovated sounds. They will be supported by myself Dj Tina Hart (kosmik) & local heros Anwar & Lee Smith (Kliks/Covert). Voltek, Shitmat (Wrong music) & Guests will be providing experimental electronic in the basement. Doors open 11pm sharp and there will be drink promos all night, so early entry is highly advised.
