Brighton Breaks Allnighter At Concorde 2

Brighton Breaks Allnighter At Concorde 2
Published 10th Jan 2007 by Will Power

After two massive events last year, we touch down at The Concorde 2 again on Saturday 3rd February. Zero Culture and the award winning NuSkoolBreaks return in 2007 with another all-star line up covering the entire Breaks spectrum. This time around we are proud to present the following headline acts to play alongside our residents:

Lo Fidelity Allstars - Brighton based breakbeat legends. Innovators of the Big Beat Sound when Skint and Fatboy Slim ruled the roost. Lo Fi’s are one of Breaks originators, now playing an eclectic breakbeat mix from Hip Hop to heavyweight breaks and everything in between. They continue to progress a scene which they helped to create.

The Autobots - Tom and Jez, collectively known as nu-skool breaks DJ’s / Producers ‘The Autobots’, have established themselves on a worldwide stage, with their instantly recognizable blend of tearing basslines and funky breaks. Their label ‘Broke Recordings’ won the coveted ‘Best Breakthrough Label’ award at last years International ‘Breakspoll’ Awards, and they continue to go from strength to strength with their Dex and FX sets.

A-Skillz - At only 24 years old his incredible deck talents involve fusing funk, hip-hop and breaks with his unique style of scratching and mixing. His debut album “TrickaTechnology” alongside Finger Lickin's very own Krafty Kuts smashed all sales expectations and was a nod towards musical influences like De La Soul, James Brown and Jurassic 5.

Ctrl-Z - Ctrl Z are a Nu Skool Breakz production duo hailing from London. Originally snapped up by Dj Mutiny’s Funkatech Recordings, but now with over 20 releases and remixes under their belts, it is no surprise that after only a year in business, Ctrl Z had the honour of receiving two nominations for Best Breakthrough Act and Best Breakthrough Producer at the 2005 Breakspoll Awards. Their DJ sets have to be seen to be believed, headlining Events all over the UK and Europe.

Groove Diggerz - formed in 2005, they are Rob Savage (Breakin Even) and Reuben Pearce (CPR). Combined they are the Groove Diggerz and are currently causing commotion on dancefloors across the world of breaks with their unique sound of big bass lines and bouncy electonic funk. Couple that with Roots their highly talented and carefully placed MC, they are yet to cause a disappointment. This year, the Groove Diggerz are up for no less than 3 Breakspoll Awards – so be sure to catch these guys before they explode on to the Worldwide scene!

In the front bar, Wasted Audio will once again be playing a krazy mix of Electro, Indie, House and everything else, headlined by The Kleptones. In the now refurbished Back room we have the first in a series of “Future Stars” DJ competitions, where we search for the next big thing, plus the best DJ can win a set in the main room at our next event!
