Brighton Fashion Weekend and Brighton Frocks Fashion Show

The stage is set, the models are ready and the venues have been confirmed for the first ever Brighton Fashion Weekend. Brought to you by the same team behind the hugely successful Brighton Frocks fashion shows, launched back in 2004, Brighton Fashion Weekend promises to be a ground-breaking event that will put Brighton firmly on the fashion map.

Visitors to the city can expect exclusive workshops, Open Studios, special film screenings, fashion parades, shop discounts, fashion installations, a Brighton Fashion Weekend closing party on Sunday 15th June at The Brighton Coalition and other must-see events taking place across the city from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June. The main event, Brighton Frocks Fashion Show, will be held on Friday 13th June at 8pm, at The Old Market, Hove. Being hosted by Dolly Rocket, the Grande Dame of burlesque, it promises to be an unforgettable night. Brighton Frocks Fashion Show combines outstanding theatrical performance with magnificent fashion from talented Brighton designers, models, make-up artists and choreographers. It is the only event of its kind that provides local designers with an annual platform to exhibit their work. Most of the designers manufacture everything in Brighton, meaning that the event also boasts an impressive carbon footprint. This year, it will feature work from 12 independent designers including dressmaker to the stars, Suzie Turner, bespoke men’s tailor Oliver Woo, wedding dress designer Joanne Fleming and Juliana Sissons.

Liz Bishop, organiser of the event says, “Brighton’s first ever Fashion Weekend is going to be the most exciting event for us so far. Since launching Brighton Frocks in 2004 it has gone from strength to strength, due largely to the efforts of the extremely talented Brighton Frocks team who work so hard to make the event such a success.

“Brighton Fashion Weekend is all about celebrating the diversity of Brighton’s fashion scene,” she adds. “We’re working towards local and national recognition for the city’s most inspirational independent designers, with a programme of great events that will make people sit up and take notice of Brighton’s first fashion weekender.”
