Published 29th Mar 2004 by Hannah Brine
Access to Music (ATM) is a national popular music training organisation who have trained the likes of Dizzee Rascal and LMC (recent no. 1 with Take Me To The Clouds Above). Now ATM is coming to Brighton and is staging an open day on Friday 23 April from 3-7pm, for aspiring young musicians who want to explore free opportunities to develop their musical skills. The event is being held at ATM Studios, C1 Enterprise Point, Melbourne Street, Brighton.
Access to Music is the UK?s largest provider of popular music training. Our programmes are the current market leaders at further education level and are run in over 20 towns and cities across the country, of which Brighton is the most recent.
Martin Rossiter, lead singer and songwriter of Gene, is the manager of the new Brighton centre. With a string of ten top 40 singles, three top 10 albums and numerous world tours his, and other tutors?, in- depth knowledge and experience of the music industry will give students an exciting and vibrant learning opportunity.
Martin says:
?Our aim is NOT to produce white teethed ?Pop Idols? but to give people the skills to produce the music they want to make, and survive in an industry that is highly competitive, but potentially very rewarding.?
ATM is looking for anyone over 16 with the motivation to become a musician, whether their tastes are Nivana, N.E.R.D, Alicia Keys or SHY FX.
