Brighton Pops Orchestra

Brighton Pops Orchestra
Published 15th Mar 2005 by The Old Market

Think pops orchestra, think James Last, think Richard Clayderman, think lift music. Well all that's changed and this decade has seen an international rise in the trend to go back to basics, using real players, playing real instruments.

The first ever Brighton Pops Orchestra is launching July 2005 and if you're an experienced reading musician playing any instrument at all, there may be an opportunity for you with the city's newest orchestra, with attractive rates of pay and an exciting performance diary.

Pops orchestras have had a bad rap in the past for their dated image and tendancy to play badly arranged covers of old pop tunes. The Brighton Pops Orchestra will blow the dust away, providing accoustic support to some of the latest music industry stars and performig national and international tours of its own, as well as summer fireworks shows and appearances at national sports events at the UK's leading venues, often teaming up with nationally recognised choirs.

To find out more about how you can get involved with Brighton's most exciting project this year, get in touch with the organiser Jamsheed Master by email below.

If you're a musician and would like to be considered for audition, you can send your CV and any publicity material to:

Jamsheed Master, The Old Market, Upper Market St, BN3 1AS

or by email to jamsheedmaster@theoldmarket.co.uk
