Brightonlife Says: 'Get on yer bike'

Brightonlife Says: 'Get on yer bike'
Published 13th Sep 2005 by Admin

Brightonlife's 'get fit September' continues this week with the most wonderful of things - a healthy activity involving the pub. Oh yes, such a thing does exist. On Saturday 17th September, get yourself down to Aldrington Station and prepare yourself for the awesome prospect of the 'Pedal to the Pub'.

A definite contender for 'event of the year', this all day off-road bike ride following the quiet highways and byways of the South Downs, climaxing in a hearty Sussex pub lunch. The organisers say that a helmet and some off road experience are necessary, as is some money for the aforementioned pub lunch.

The journey is twenty miles around, but be prepared for a much more difficult second half as all that delicious pub food sits in yer' belly!

The event runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm and is open to anyone aged 14 years or over. The rendevouz is at Aldrington Station and the secret codeword is 'Brightonlife'. Actually, that last bit isn't true. There is no codeword. But there is a bike ride. Over and out.
