Brighton's Hanbury Club Wins Bar Award!

Brighton entrepreneur, Chris Edwardes, co-owner of Blanch House and The Hanbury Club wins an award for 'Outstanding Achievement' within the bar industry.  Chris Edwardes vastly experienced cocktail connoisseur, successful entrepreneur, creator of ‘Drink Pimps’ has been recognized for his achievements with in the bar industry. Over the last 30 years Chris Edwardes has built up an impressive list of successful projects at many prestigious venues including; Soho's Groucho Club, The Atlantic bar for Ollie Peyton, Damian Hirst's Pharmacy Bar and organises private parties (his party clients include Keanu Reeves). Chris's talents have now been recognised with the ultimate bar industry accolade for his outstanding service and innovative ideas; awards this year alone came from top trade publications, Theme and Class magazines - beating every other bar in the UK! Last month he won again at the Class Bar Awards this time for ‘Outstanding Achievement’.

At the ultimate Cocktail party of 2008 ‘Grey Goose Character & Cocktails’, Chris was named a ‘Grey Goose Legend’ and was selected to work with the British sculptor, Gavin Turk, creating a signature cocktail that would reflect and compliment Gavin Turk’s outstanding bar design. Some of the worlds best creative visionaries were involved such as David Furnish Simon Difford, Patrick Cox and Alessandro Palazzi, Giles Deacon and Jason Fendick, Theo Fennell and Amy Sacco, and with the short straw, Jake Burger and the beautiful Eva Herzigova. The event was set up by Grey Goose Vodka for the Elton John Aids Foundation and raised £350,000 for the charity. (More info at www.greygoose.com )
