Britrock Modern Jive Championships 10th & 11th October

The Hove Centre will be hosting the BritRock Independent Modern Jive Championships on 10th & 11th October. This year the event is opening its doors to members of the public, you can now buy tickets to watch this spectacular event from the second floor viewing gallery. The weekends events will prove to be both entertaining and glamorous and well worth taking the time out to come along and see some of the countries best Modern Jive Dancers battle it out over the 13 different categories.

The event kicks off with the BritRock Ball on the Friday night, where the dancers get a chance to get their bearings, try out the dance floor, eye up the competition and dance the night away to the acclaimed 11 piece band RetrOactive who will be playing a wide array of jivable music from the 1940’s through to the modern day. The Friday night ball is open to all comers so for those of you who like to dance it is a great opportunity for you to dance alongside the experts to this amazing band. Tickets for the ball are only £10 in advance or £12 on the door.

Those less adventurous of you can still partake in the glitz and glamour of the evening by buying tickets to the second floor balcony area, from here you can listen to the band and watch the whole evenings events for only £6 if tickets are bought in advance or £8 on the door.

The competition on 11th October starts at .midday and will be hosted by Charles Shirvell – associate West End director of Chicargo. There are a total of 13 categories including show case and new for this year a children’s category. Anyone wanting to come along and watch the competition can do so from the second floor balcony. Tickets for spectators are only £5 making this an ideal family day out where you can enjoy all the thrills of this glamorous eye catching spectacle
