ART, CHAMPAGNE, EXCITEMENT AND FUNDRAISING
35 ARTISTS ? 35 TICKETS ONLY!
BLANCH HOUSE, BRIGHTON, 14th DECEMBER O3

You may think that buying contemporary art requires a second mortgage, a hike to London and a killer instinct for spotting Britart?s next big thing. Well relax, Canvas has an alternative solution.

Tickets are now on sale for Christmas Canvas. For ?300 you will be guaranteed champagne, a chance to meet the artists and one of thirty-five original pieces of Art worth more than the cost of the ticket and in many cases substantially more. The first person whose name is drawn, gets to choose the pick of the artistic crop and so on until all ticket holders have cleared the walls. With a target of ?10,000 the beneficiaries are Brighton Lifeline Humanitarian Aid and The Children?s Fire and Burns Trust.

The last event in June 03 benefited from the contemporary surrounding of Brighton?s premier boutique Hotel, Blanch House. Demand for tickets outstripped supply and thirty happy art lovers walked off with ?25,000 worth of art at a fraction of the price, in a champagne haze.

Just a selection of the artists involved are Dion Salvador Lloyd, Lionel Dumas, Nick Dwyer, Josie McCoy, Simon Etheridge, Alan Furneaux, Ben Allen, Selagh May, Maria Kuipers, Sara Abbott, Jeremy Sanders, Charlotte Davies, Dawn Stacey and many more. You can see all 35 artists at the new Canvas web site www.canvasuk.org

We are also proud to announce the Canvas online gallery which is an alternative way to buy artwork on line. There are 65 artists so far on board. Unlike other galleries we take no commission and let you deal directly with the artists. Saving you and the artists money! We support artists and art lovers alike! All artists in the gallery have generously donated a piece of their work to a Canvas event.

?To sum it up, the Canvas raffle provided us with excitement, culture, suspense, debate, a few new friends and a very much loved new painting for our wall. We have told all our friends about it and we know that there?ll be a queue around the block to buy a ticket for the next one. We certainly will.?
