Citysocialising Brighton Launch
Published 17th Oct 2007 by Harry
Study reveals that Brighton is the easiest city to make new friends and the flirtiest! Brighton is known for many things: its famous pier, vibrant gay scene and music artists including The Kooks and Fatboy Slim. But a new piece of research has revealed Brighton to be the easiest city in the UK to make new friends… and the flirtiest!
The study was conducted by CitySocialising, a social networking and events company which aims to kick start the social lives of young, busy professionals. The research involved 15,000 people in cities across the UK.
The research revealed:
• Brighton was voted the easiest city to make new friends. Manchester was 2nd and Glasgow was 3rd. London was last.
• Brighton was the flirtiest city in the UK with 64% of those questioned admitting to flirting with a friend’s partner. Manchester was 2nd with 47% and Leeds came last with 11%
• People in Manchester had more friends than anyone else with 55% of those questioned saying they had 10 or more friends, followed by Brighton with 42% and Leeds with 25%.
• 57% of those questioned found people in Brighton very friendly.
• 62% of those questioned said the best way to meet people in Brighton was at work or in a bar and the worst place was in a restaurant.
• In terms of best places to meet new friends, 65% of people questioned said Brighton’s bars and clubs.
• Specifically, Brighton’s The Honey club, OSHO bar and The World’s End pub were considered the best place to meet new friends.
Sanchita Saha, founder of CitySocialising and queen of the UK’s social scene said:
“Brighton is clearly one of the top places to be to meet friendly people. It’s vibrant scene and friendly atmosphere provides ample opportunity to expand your circle of friends and kick start your social life. Love is definitely in the air as people in Brighton were more likely to flirt with their friend’s partner than any other city in the UK so my advise is if you’re with someone at the moment, hang on to them!”
The public are given a FREE invitation to attend the Brighton launch of CitySocialising on Wednesday 24th October 2007 between 7.30pm - 1am at Heist (basement lounge), 57 West Street, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 2RA. The launch party will be an opportunity to meet and socialise with young, outgoing Brighton professionals in CitySocialising’s laid-back signature style.
Places are strictly limited and those wishing to attend must reserve a place in advance. Simply visit the CitySocialising Brighton website at http://brighton.citysocialising.com and register for free to book onto the event. The public are invited to see the profiles of all the other guests attending, message others before (and after) the night, compile a Friends List after the event to keep in touch with people they get on with and have free limited access to all of CitySocialising’s other online networking features.
