The infamous DiY crew travel down from Nottingham, with a band in tow for another of their deep house mash-ups at the Concorde 2. DiY nights have become a regular fixture on the clubbing calendar for all Brighton deep house heads with up to 200 late arrivals never even making it past the clubs entrance. A ?here for the music? mixed crowd full of smiley chin tremblers and sweaty arm wavers always ensures the nights overrun by at least 15 minutes, much to the consternation of the good natured club security. Basically this night will rock, but in a very gentle, laid back 'haven't I seen you before, you look very familiar' kind of way..

Simon DK
aka the Dark Knight, After spending the last 12 months in San Francisco were he's been playing and causing general chaos in the Lower Haight area he's now back in residence in the UK and at the DiY nights. Expect to see more of this up and coming youngster

Jack
Playing with DiY since the very early days and after spending the last eight years residing between London and Nottingham Jack has returned from New York were he worked at one of the cities largest dance stores called Satellite Records.

Emma
Based in Nottingham Emma plays her own brand of deep house tinged with a dose of breakbeat. Emma joined the DiY DJ's after first hooking up through the traveller/free party scene. Emma's been DJing regularly with DiY for 8 years.

Schmoov
Schmoov met in Nottingham in 1997 rehearsing together in a funk band. They are John Buckby, Andre Bonsor and Andrew Tytherleigh and all play instruments as well as tweaking knobs and watching housey blips go by on computer screens. Andy is the bass man; Andre the disco dog of the keys and John sits on balconies playing the sax with a bandana on.

As well as producing tracks and playing in funk bands Andre and john have DJed for years an' years. Andre spins vintage disco and john does the deep house thing, playing a mixture of dubby N.Y. style house with some techy jazz shit thrown in, just how you like it baby! Over the past couple of years he's made a name for himself as a DJ on the German house scene, with current residencies in Frankfurt (monza and u60311) and Hamburg (lounge). So he's always jetting off over there to be met by hordes of screaming girls at the airport. Bastard.

Schmoov have released under various guises on a number of labels, including DiY, Soap, 4th wave, Tag and of course Paper and Repap. Tracks have been licensed to guidance's 'hi-fidelity lounge vol 2', groove armada's much acclaimed 'back to mine' mix CD and most recently paper's awesome splinter 3 compilation, among others.
