Club Review: David Guetta @ Honeyclub, Mar 06

Club Review: David Guetta @ Honeyclub, Mar 06
Published 19th Mar 2006 by Sandy Mermet

David Guetta rocks our lives!

What did you do on Friday 10th March? Did you stay home chilling out on your sofa, chatting over a cup of coffee? Did you have a quiet dinner and then feel so full that you couldn?t even bother to go out dancing and burning the calories you had just taken? If that?s the case you missed out a big night!

The Honey Club hosted French house music pioneer David Guetta. Famous for the parties he hosts in Ibiza, the fabled island of techno music and never-ending parties, renowned for his stylistic versatility and his mixes all around the world, David Guetta has become a true living legend of house music.

With his V-neck singular sartorial style, his candid smiley appearance and his impressive party style, David literally took over the Honey Club. ?The World Is Mine?, an international hit featuring JD Davis on vocals, definitely set the tone and sufficed to warm up the crowd of clubbers, who were singing out loud and chanting David?s name. He then carried on spinning his explosive electro-house-techno cocktails, such as ?Just a Little More Love", "In love with Myself" and "Stay". Surprisingly enough he brilliantly remixed some of the world?s most famous artists such as U2 or Michael Jackson.

After 3 hours of crazy spinning, cheering up faces, lifting up the mob of clubbers, David closed up the night with ?We Could Be Heroes?, his remix of David Bowie?s Heroes. A genuine meaningful final note!

If you missed out on David Guetta, be sure to put the next big house music night at the Honeyclub in your diaries... Roger Sanchez visits on Friday 28th April. Entry will set you back 20 squid, but you may not get 'another chance' to see Sanchez in Brighton for years.
