Daftness! Whimsy! Jokes! Lies! Flapping About! Chris Addison Is In Town
Published 17th Feb 2010 by Komedia
At last! Double Perrier nominee, Mr. Chris Addison from Bafta Award-winning comedy The Thick of It, In The Loop, Skins, Lab Rats and his own brand new 5 live show ‘7 day Sunday’, is back with a brand new show of his critically acclaimed stand-up. Daftness! Whimsy! Jokes! Lies! Smartarsery! Flapping about! All present and correct.
“He’s brilliant. No question.” The Times
As a stand up Chris is regarded as one of the most versatile comics on the circuit with his pacy, energetic routines and faultless delivery. A top class purveyor of smart-arse daftness, whimsy, perspiration, lies and jokes, he has charmed both audiences and critics alike with his particularly polite brand of observational comedy.
"The best Stand-up I've seen." - The Observer
Both his 2004 and 2005 solo Edinburgh shows sold out and were nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award and Chris' radio show The Ape That Got Lucky (BBC Radio 4) won a Sony Radio Academy award in 2006. Chris hasn't been on tour since headlining Edinburgh and Beyond Live in 2006 following two nationwide tours of Atomicty and Civilization. He's been busy working on In the Loop, a new political film directed by Armando Innuci, Banter (BBC Radio4), The Department (BBC Radio4) and Have I Got News For You (BBC1) but is now back doing what he does best.
“Downright hilarious. His stories reduced a packed crowd to tears of helpless laughter.” The Sunday Times
Chris' writing credits include Revolver (BBC One), Harry Hill's TV Burp (ITV1), TFI Friday (Channel 4), and he has enjoyed critical acclaim as one third of comedy show The Department (BBC Radio 4). As an author Chris has written Cautionary Tales for Grown-Ups, It Wasn't Me as well as The Hunt For Middle England, which he also presented on BBC Four.
Chris Addison visits Komedia Brighton on Saturday 6 March at 5pm and 8pm. Tickets are £15 available on-line at www.komedia.co.uk/brighton or from the Box Office on 0845 293 8480.
