Deviate Launches In Brighton

Deviate Launches In Brighton
Published 27th Oct 2008 by Damo

Deviate was born on the streets of East London back in 2002 on a planet over-saturated with mediocrity and ever plagued by the rising stench of commercial music. Deviate runs on a super high frequency; each blip, break and bass tone finely tuned to the cutting edge of new sound. You might have never heard of us, or you might have heard a lot. Either way, we the Deviate minions would like to keep you in the know with a little whisper in your ear. We are proud to announce that from the 30th October Deviate will be hosting a new holy residency on your lovely beachside. We bring the tightest most exciting artists to our events for one simple reason.... it's all about the skank.

The first instalment of this raucous rave kicks off with Sheffield?s own musical miscreant, Toddla T. Fresh off the bus from the Roots Manuva ?Slime and Reason? album tour and with recent DJ sets at Fabric for Herve and Sinden?s Get Familiar and Bestival?s Reunion tour illustrate that if you get this lad on the x-ray, you?ll be blinded by the hot, dancehall flavoured bassline business buzzing right through him.

There?s some seriously heavy and twisted dubstep from NTYPE, the award-winning Dubstep DJ / producer and label owner who is without doubt one of the heavyweights in the Dubstep scene. Voted Best Dubstep DJ in 2006 and 2007 with releases on labels such as Tempa, 3.5 Records and his own Terrain imprint you can always expect the freshest dubplates, biggest beats, basslines and anthems in an N-Type set.

Next up is genre-defining dub pioneer Bass Clef. From deep within his beloved Echo Chamber, BC has been busy, and it has been time well spent. This summer he has played a run storming live sets including Sonar Festival as well as Deviate & Reggae Roast in London. Bass Clef has produced an album that redefines the boundaries of Dub step, which lies somewhere in between conventional Dubstep and Electronica.

Residents Exel and Sandman conclude Room 1 with Room 2 helmed by Moodie and more guests TBC.
November?s party is also listed below, which is taking shape rather nicely too with headline guests the Audio Bullys touching down as part of their 3-date Deviate tour!
