Doll And The Kicks And The Perils - Live
Published 14th Aug 2009 by Declan Cassidy
DOLL AND THE KICKS are a Brighton treasure, a band on the verge of great things. Not only do they stick two fingers up to the latest wave of bog standard British pop music, they do it with style. Electro tinged, catchy rock n roll is the name of the game and Doll gives it her all, strutting on the stage like she owns the whole town! After touring with Morrissey throughout September, they have gained a strong UK wide following and will no doubt be massive in the next few months, so catch them while you can, you won't regret it!
"Doll & The Kicks pull off some damn hard sugary rock that scratches like it's the biggest bitch in the playground."
THE SOURCE
"DATK are all attitude; radiating confidence, striking poses and delivering high quality, driven, eccentric pop. Singer Doll's voice is a perfectly spotless hybrid of Kate Bush and Gwen Stefani. Her energy is frantic yet focused and she works the crowd like a pro."
ARTROCKER
Support comes in the shape of THE PERILS, Brighton based purveyors of dirty rock n roll.
In their short time together, The Perils have supported the likes of The Buzzcocks, Carbon Silicon, Cage the Elephant, Frank Turner and The Thirst. The band recently made history by becoming the first ever unsigned act to be featured at a Rock Against Racism main show, and their fan base now includes Mick Jones (The Clash), NME Magazine and MOJO Magazine who described them as having 'the best live drummer we've seen since John Bonham'.
+And finally, more London based pop perfection from PERFECT PEOPLE: "Tighter than a pair of j-bo white skinny fits", James, Hadouken!.
