Domestic & General Open Phone Lines For Sport Relief
Published 10th Mar 2010 by Jasmin Robertson
Brighton contact centre Domestic & General is dedicating its phone lines to Sport Relief from 6pm till midnight on Friday 19th March.
160 members of staff will accept telephone donations as an essential part of the BBC’s nationwide television appeal. Volunteers are aiming to beat the £70,000 they collected in 2008 in just six hours.
The night will kick off with a champagne toast from The Mayor followed by Olympic-themed fundraising games every half hour. Challenges include an Olympic fancy dress competition and a Wii Fit Tournament.
Local businesses have donated prizes and Domestic & General staff are in with a chance of winning a variety of gifts from a cut and colour at Peewees hair salon to a hamper from LUSH.
Ben Dale-Gough, Site Operations Manager at Domestic & General said:
‘I’m really proud of the commitment shown by our staff. Sport Relief is an incredibly popular initiative, but without volunteers at the end of the phones much-needed donations would fall by the wayside.
We want to make the evening really enjoyable to thank our staff for their generosity and are pleased to welcome The Mayor Ann Norman to celebrate with us. We’d also like to thank our local partners for offering so many great prizes.’
