Those of you who live in or near to the Preston Street/Upper North Street part of Brighton and Hove will probably have noticed a rather important gap in the entertainment that is currently on offer. While there are plenty of restaurants, some great pubs, a couple of nightclubs ? even a supermarket or two - there still aren?t any stylish, late night bars for those revellers who would like to drink somewhere upbeat beyond 11pm without going clubbing. Which really for a city of Brighton?s calibre is rather unacceptable!

Thankfully Esca is on its way to fill the gap for the thirsty people out there?Situated on the site of what was previously Mamma Mias Restaurant Esca is perfectly positioned between the sea and the shops to provide an ideal meeting place.

Esca is to be an elegant late night bar designed for those of us who like to party in style. Designed by Amanda Blanch of Blanch House Esca is a sumptuous venue decked out in opulent reds and blacks with chesterfield sofas and gorgeous banquettes. The bar offers a chilled, grown up alternative for those of us who know how to enjoy ourselves and expect to be able to do it in appropriate surroundings. Esca is beautifully designed, light , airy and comfortable bar in which to enjoy fine times with good friends.

Amanda Blanch states how: ? The owners asked me to get involved in this project to bring it a unique yet Brighton flair. It?s a great space with fabulous light - we promise the end result is going to be something rather special and look forward to seeing you at the bar.?

Food and Drink

Esca also offers light meals for those wise people among you who simply won?t be able to tear yourself away from the hospitality and comfort you?ve discovered. The drinks menu has been carefully selected to ensure that there?s something for everyone ? perfectly served cocktails, premium spirits, draft and bottled beers and a thoroughly decent wine list. And for the non-drinkers out there ? there?s a good selection of teas and coffees and bartenders willing to take up the challenge of mixing a decent non-alcoholic cocktail!

Esca?s new manager Warwick explains how:

?I?m really excited to be involved in this new venture. This is a perfect location for a bar of this kind and I can?t wait to get creative with our exciting new cocktail menu. We?ll be offering a grown-up and relaxed environment which will reflect the best things about Brighton and Hove and leave the rest on the seafront!?

Sunday ? Wednesday: midday ? midnight
Thursday ? Saturday: midday ? 2am
