Hard Hats And Champagne At New Brighton Venus
Published 8th Jul 2004 by Madeline
The party crowd of Brighton donned hard-hats last night for a sneak preview of two exciting new venues opening on the seafront. [7 JULY 2004]
Iniquity, a decadent late night lounge bar, and Samphire, a contemporary seafood restaurant, will officially open later this summer. However, new owners ? Cairbry Hill and Steve Kelly of Iniquity London and Sam Surl ex-Alphabet in London ? have had so many enquiries about their venture they decided to let a few people in on the act.
Cairbry, formerly of The Met Bar, said: ?There is a definite buzz about the place ? people have been so interested in the building works that we thought ?why not open the doors so people could see for themselves??. Both venues have had a complete overhaul and we?re delighted with the progress so far.?
With a supreme seafront location and a view designed for long lingering, Samphire will be a seafood restaurant that has other chefs running back to their kitchens in search of inspiration. From relaxed dining on the finest locally-caught seafood to quick bites at the shellfish bar, the restaurant will be an epicurean haven for Brightonites as well as city visitors looking for high quality ?eats? without wandering far from the beaten track.
Decadent sister venue Iniquity promises to be the brave new city?s ultimate destination. This sophisticated lounge bar will offer intimate hideaways for clandestine assignations and also spaces to see and be seen in. Iniquity will impress with plentiful cocktails ? including unique signature drinks and timeless classics with a twist ? and a contemporary global cuisine, all served against a backdrop of glamour and elegance.
