Jethro Tull Musician Launches Unique New Musical In Brighton
Published 4th May 2005 by Sam Harrington-Lowe

As part of the Festival Fringe Brighton this month, a fabulous new musical extravaganza called Hank Cinq will be coming to you from Palmer?s Bar in Brighton by the ice rink, kicking off on 7 May and running each weekend. It?s a racy, reflective chronicle of life in England at the time of the battle of Agincourt - Henry V, Hank Cinq geddit?! And it comes to you as a new and unconventional one-man musical.

Best known to the public hitherto as David Palmer ? a member throughout their glory days of the seminal group Jethro Tull ? Dee Palmer is now launched as a unique singer/songwriter cabaret artist with a repertoire of original, powerful, and at times quirkily amusing new material. There can?t be many who aren?t aware by now that David Palmer the male is now, and has been for a while, Dee Palmer the female. However, Palmer the superb musician remains unchanged, thriving happily in the now and not ?Living in the Past?!

Whilst working with Jethro Tull, Dee has enjoyed a career thus far that has also involved working with Bert Jansch, Gerry Rafferty, Billy Connolly, Roy Orbison, as well as volumes of music written for film, television and records. Experience like this will always speak for itself.

HANK CINQ
The droll, pithy lyrics are courtesy of Nathan Joseph, and are set to a timeless musical score by Dee Palmer who performs the show solo, linking it all together with an amusing flow of educated repartee! They don?t come along like this very often.
