Joe Strummer Remembrance Night

Komedia is delighted to present the fifth annual tribute to the The Clash frontman with a blistering line-up of bands dishing out some high-octane entertainment.

Headlining the night are Take The 5th, who cover Clash songs from Janie Jones through to Mescaleros-era Coma Girl. Taking their name from the title given by The Clash to their second US tour in 1979, Take The 5th have been gigging for years, with their blend of rock and reggae recapturing the unique mood of the most vibrant of times. They are supported by Ramones tribute Havana-A-Go-Go, classic punk maestros Night Of Treason and the Death Or Glory Sound System.

All profits will be donated to Strummerville - The Joe Strummer Foundation For New Music, which was set-up by Strummer?s family and friends following his untimely passing. A charitable foundation for the production of new music, the main aim of Strummerville is to provide rehearsal space and studio time to individuals, groups and organisations to enable the production of music by creative young people who would otherwise be prevented from doing so simply because they lack the necessary funds. Their ultimate aim is to have Strummerville studios in key locations around the world.

JOE STRUMMER REMEMBRANCE NIGHT visits Komedia on Saturday 6 January at 8pm. Tickets are ?10.
