Join Blah Blah Blah At Brighton's Newest Club This Easter

Join Blah Blah Blah At Brighton's Newest Club This Easter
Published 10th Mar 2008 by Kristian Bannister

The Beach Club has been invented and refurbished as The Brighton Coalition. The doors open over Easter weekend and the 600 capacity club is sure to become one of the coolest hangouts in the city. The Brighton Coalition will play home to some of Brighton's best nights over the coming months. Premier party starters and purveyors of electro, Blah Blah Blah, kick things off on the opening Saturday with a line-up that would rival the biggest club nights in the country.

Headlining the party is Herve aka The Count of Monte Cristal aka Joshua Harvey. One of the breakout stars of British Dance music in recent years, Herve is revolutionising dancefloor sounds. Probably the busiest producer around releasing music under several aliases including The Things, Voodoo Chilli, Action Man, Deadsoul Brothers as well as the more well known monickers of The Count and Speakerjunk. His work as one half of Speakerjunk with Trevor Loveys placed them alongside contemparies such as Switch and Jesse Rose. However since going it alone as Herve, his sound has grown in vision, encompassing everything from rave, techno, electro, bmore and 2 step into his production. His remixes of The Chemical Brothers, Larry Tee, Goodbooks, NYPC and Hijack have all been absolute bangers and huge fan favourites.

This year Herve is ready to make even further leaps as a producer and fame is sure to follow. His is continuing to work alongside another fidget house favourite, Sinden, under the monicker "The Count of Monte Cristal". Their track "Beeper" was a huge underground hit last year escaping the confines of the coolest clubs in London and taking over the world. "Beeper"is set to become an even bigger hit this year thanks to a rework and the addition of Kid Sister's newly rapped verses.

Bringing a live element to the bill is Primary 1. An exciting new artist who has been touring with Metronomy. Primary 1's last single "Hold Me Down" was released on Phantasy to rave reviews. His quirky off-beat take on electro has seen him compared to the likes of Metronomy and Hot Chip. He'll be performing a rare solo show for us. He had to pull out of his last Brighton date so if you missed him here's your chance!

Also on the bill is Brighton's prodigal son and blogster, Casper C. Casper is the brains behind London's Sunday institution Blogger's Delight aswell as co-promoter of Adventures in the Beetroot Field. AITBF is the captial's most forward thinking club night. It's residency at Fabric where they throw 'mini-festivals' and their summer festival 'Field Day' have helped launch the careers of some of the most interesting music acts in the world right now. Casper's diverse music taste has seen him play in the best clubs in Europe and alongside such luminaries as Ivan Smagghe, Kissy Sell Out, Busy P, Boys Noize, Digitalism and MSTRKRFT. He is also part of the uber-cool music collective Fluokids.

As if that wasn't enough, Room 2 is being hosted by De Puta Madre, who need little introduction. Regularly smashing the hell out of any club they play, these guys know how to throw a party and are sure to get up to plenty of mayhem in TBC's second room.

With more acts still to be confirmed, this is set to be one of the biggest parties the city will see this year. Keep an eye out around town for flyers which will guarantee you concession entry to the night.

Advance tickets are available at £8 from Resident, Ape and Rounder.
