Joogleberry Playhouse 3rd Birthday Party!!!
Published 17th May 2006 by Sue Popper

Joogleberry Playhouse, the twinkling gem in our city, celebrates its third birthday on Mon 5th June! Launched back June 2003, the venue has established a massively loyal following; artists and music lovers alike are clambering to have a piece of the Joogleberry magic.

The hugely atmospheric ?city at night? downstairs cabaret bar continues to provide a fantastically eclectic and high quality entertainment programme every single night of the week. This year Joogleberry has gone from strength to strength introducing wonderful live acoustic artists to the Ground Floor Restaurant. The Sunday Afternoon Session, a combination of free live music and delicious hearty Roasts, is a winning formula ? the news is spreading round the city; it?s truly the best way to spend your Sunday!

The talent spotting wagon continues to roll ? at a rapidly increasing pace. Heard of The Kooks? Nizlopi?? Joogleberry saw something great in these bands, booked them for a gig, and watched as their worlds? opened up. Future tips for the top come in the form of Eliza Wren Payne, Mike Rosenberg Band, Ben Sarfas, Alice Shaw and local busker Carly Bryant. Every night is a mutual privilege to both venue and musician ? Liane Carroll has wowed the crowds, bringing her Best Jazz Singer In UK status to the stage (BBC Jazz Award 05). True ambassadors of all genres colour the Joogleberry programme...

?and true delights of all cuisines colour the Joogleberry menu! Keeping to the theme so well accustomed to, Joogleberry continues to champion innovation ? launching an exciting new menu at the Birthday bash. We know what you like, and we know just the guy to impress you even more?welcome our new Chef! ? seeing, hearing, tasting is believing?but in the meantime?

It?s party time! Come and join our toast to another successful year at Joogleberry Playhouse! Our birthday is gonna be one big celebration for us all ? with both floors open for everyone to mill around; expect some free tasty canopies from our new menu; hot shots; fab music and atmosphere?(as always)?it?s the Joogleberry experience!

Tonight our birthday band will be The Real John Doe Project featuring the amazing Remi Miles. Influenced by artists such as Hendrix, Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield, he has created a sound that brings these classic artists into 2006. He has the musicians, the energy and determination for his deserved stardom. He is generating a huge fan base, his gigs are blowing people away and Remi?s charisma makes a whole buzz of its own.

Constantly on a mission to get it right for Brighton and beyond. Consistent excellent feedback about our tasty daytimes, our evening shows and our buzzing Joogleberry late bar suggests we?re definitely on our way ? but expect even more to come in year 4!
