Komedia Gets Some Decks Appeal!

Komedia Gets Some Decks Appeal!
Published 1st Sep 2006 by Chris Challis

Music, Comedy, Cabaret, Theatre… and Clubbing? KOMEDIA is set to add another string to its bow. Dedicated to bringing the best local, national and international acts to Brighton, KOMEDIA is now delighted to become the home to some of the city’s greatest club nights this autumn, with its bars staying open until 3am.

Stick It On, the only club night that shirks resident DJs, asks you to become a star, stickin’ on whatever tunes you damn well please. Following the Hanbury Ballroom’s closure, this immensely popular night was left needing a new home. However, an enormous 80% of Stick It On regulars wished for Komedia to house their favourite night. With air conditioning for all, a bigger capacity than most, and importantly more toilets than anywhere else, Komedia granted their wish. Let the madness commence from Saturday 7 October.

Komedia won’t know what it hit as It Came From The Sea, Bohemia-by-the-sea's best-loved experimental disco embraces it’s new monthly status from Friday 13 October. Bringing you 'hip-hop fashion pop electro sleaze rock action' alongside near-psychedelic smoke and lights, original art, dogbowls full of sweets and an LED suggesting topics of conversation to a dancefloor full of self-made superstars it’s going to be quite, quite brilliant.

With our regular guests Little Nik and Co. bringing some nostalgic funk and soul, rhythm and blues (and a dash of Northern soul) with In The Midnight Hour on Friday 29 September, and our Salsatronic DJ’s spinning the best Latin flavoured tunes every month, Komedia’s already enviable programme is set to stun. Clubbing in Brighton has a new home.
