Komedia - Tag Comedy Is Back!
Published 4th Aug 2009 by Press
Featuring top UK comedians – all headliners from the Krater Comedy Club with NO running order, NO set lists, and NO idea as to what they will be doing or talking about – this is a not-to-be missed comedy extravaganza! August’s show sees Martin Coyote, Adam Bloom and more join Stephen Grant to take the leap into the unknown!
“By the end of the evening my face ached with the strain of laughing.” – ThreeWeeks
A true unsung hero of British comedy, Martin Coyote has been at the top of the game for more than a decade. Exuding a warmth and laddish charm, he generates a rare response from comedy audiences - they genuinely like him. A pivotal member of the Comedy Store's flagship topical show, The Cutting Edge, he is also a prolific writer, whose credits include Bring Me The Head Of Light Entertainment, Loose Talk and Five Live's The Treatment.
Adam Bloom is one of Britain's most inventive comedians. He has performed seven sell-out solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival as well as performing a sell-out tour of Britain. He has also sold out theatres at festivals in Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington & Cape Town as well as making three visits to Just For Laughs in Montreal. In 2004, Adam was part of the 'Just For Laughs Comedy Tour', playing to 42,000 people in 17 cities across Canada. He has also written three series of The Problem with Adam Bloom for BBC Radio 4.
According to Time Out, “Stephen Grant is [...] Britain’s best comedy compère and odd-job man” and it's not hard to see why! A cult figure in Brighton thanks to his co-creation of the Krater Comedy Club at Komedia, he won the 2008 Chortle Award for ‘Best Compere’ (and is nominated for the same award in 2009), has hosted his own radio show for BBC Southern Countries, has written for BBC Radio 1, acts as a warm-up comedian for QI and other TV shows, and has written and performed shows at Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the nine years. With over 1000 people attending the Krater Comedy Club every weekend throughout the year, it’s no surprise that Stephen became the most seen performer in Brighton in 2006 across all disciplines (theatre, music, cabaret), having played to over 40,000 punters at Komedia alone.
“The audience could barely control its laughter from the first word to the last.” – The Argus
TAG COMEDY visits Komedia Brighton on Thursday 6 August at 8pm (food served from 7pm). Tickets are £8.50/£6.50 available on-line at www.komedia.co.uk/brighton or from the Box Office on 0845 293 8480.
