Krater Comedy Club Joins Forces With New Club Night Motorcity

Krater Comedy Club Joins Forces With New Club Night Motorcity
Published 29th Jun 2010 by Matt Costello

Brace yourselves as the ‘Best Saturday Night Out in the South West’ is now heading to Brighton!

Our award-winning Krater Comedy Club is now joined by a brand new club night Motorcity, so head down to Komedia this summer and get ready to eat, drink, watch and laugh in an unforgettable show of giggles and guffaws with the top comics in the business and then complete the evening by partying the night away with some of your favourite Motown tunes!

From humble beginnings, (called the Krater - because when the club was being planned the stage space was just a crater in the ground), the Krater Comedy Club has gone from strength to strength, consistently selling out and featuring top acts such as Catherine Tate, Omid Djalili, Ross Noble, Reginald D Hunter and Gina Yashere. Described as ‘THE place to catch stand-up comedy’ by The Independent, and winner of the ‘Best Comedy Venue in the South’ for a record-breaking seven times by chortle.co.uk, the night was so-founded by Brighton comedy genius (and winner of the Chortle Award for Best Compère 2008) Stephen Grant. With this level of quality it’s no surprise that Krater has become a staple of Brighton’s nightlife, and a favourite amongst locals and visitors.

And now, your night doesn’t have to end there! Running straight on from Krater every Saturday, Komedia is delighted to bring Motorcity to its Brighton venue. Since it began in Komedia Bath six months ago, Motorcity has proved an absolutely favourite with both critics and crowds alike, named as The Guardian ‘Pick of the week’ for club nights. With a refreshing but classic mix across all the Motown, funk, soul and rock'n'roll greats, and even a touch of disco to boot there is something for everyone!

So now there is no excuse not to keep the party going late into the night with a fantastic evening of comedy and Komedia Brighton's newest club night, especially as Krater ticket holders get in for absolutely free!

EVERY Saturday. 18+ only
