Lipton Xtreme Sk8-park Puts On ?fright Night?

LIPTON XTREME SK8-PARK PUTS ON ?FRIGHT NIGHT? THIS FRIDAY THE 13th
Just a few weeks ago Brighton?s skaters were using makeshift ramps in the area surrounding the seafront?s disused paddling pool. But in what has been an amazing turn around, that same site is now home to Brighton?s newest tourist attraction the Lipton Xtreme Sk8-Park.
Skaters can enjoy the thrills and spills from 10am-10pm for seventy days (closes to the public on October 3rd 2004) at the site, which expects to attract 38,000 professional and amateur skaters to the seafront. Local skaters, who have volunteered their services as marshals, will be teaching novices how to handle the half pipes.
This Friday, August 13th, the Lipton Xtreme Sk8-Park will be running a unique event dubbed ?Fright Night?. The night will feature two different tournaments searching for the UK?s hottest skate & bmx talent. The tournaments will be run in two heats ? one for under sixteen?s and one for over sixteen?s. Each skater will be given one minute to impress the judges with an array of tricks. The prize for the best trick in both tournaments will be an Apple iPod, and for the harshest wipeout, a knuckle- clenching ride strapped to the front of a Sea Cat around the sea by the Brighton West Pier!
To add even more excitement to the event, one of the UK?s most promising young bands, Team Gooch, will be playing their latest stuff. There is even going to be a grind rail on the edge of the stage where skaters can show off their latest moves. It?s going to be a night to remember. The competition kicks off at 5pm.
Sponsors, Lipton Ice Tea will be donating the refreshing drink to the park and arranging weekend events, giving away prizes as part of a wider commitment to Brighton.
