Mystery Jets Play Brighton Pier
Published 4th Jun 2010 by Matt Costello
Last night Chevrolet teamed up with a mixture of the UK’s hottest music, design and style talents to stage a live music experience like no other.
Thousands of hopefuls applied online to win an exclusive free ticket to the fourth and final regional event of the Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour, held at Horatio’s Bar at the end of Brighton Pier. 200 lucky guests were treated to a live ‘pop-up’ gig featuring the Mystery Jets, following on from their European tour with the Arctic Monkeys; playing live tracks from their eagerly anticipated third album - Serotonin performed live in the UK before its worldwide release in July.
ISO Kate Moross, Jack Featherstone and Hans Lo have created a series of light installations in their own signature style, which bathed the band in colour containing the Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour logo decal whilst they performed.
Last night’s fourth regional event in Brighton saw the end of the Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour which has popped up as an unscheduled gig in five cities across the UK, taking place every two weeks from April until June. Each gig had a different location, offering guests a unique live music experience, as a ‘pop up’ event, where they’d probably never see live music ever again.
Cities to choose from included Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Brighton, Edinburgh and Bristol with venues ranging from a drained swimming pool and multi-story car park to an old picture house and ferry across the Mersey.
