National Softie Week And Andrex’s Softiequad Hit Brighton!

National Softie Week And Andrex’s Softiequad Hit Brighton!
By Paul Joseph 14th May 2008

In celebration of National Softie Week Andrex’s softie tour has hit Brighton this week! They will be here on a mission to turn Brighton Soft by handing out thousands of free puppy goodies.

The reason why? It’s official, people in Brighton have seriously let their soft sides slip, with residents exposed as some of the worst offenders in the country for refusing to hug loved ones (63%), never saying “I love you” to nearest and dearest (59%), forgetting birthdays (83%), having little or no manners (78%), suffering road rage (59%) and binning their first childhood cuddly toy (90%)!

Sadly the survey by Andrex reveals that this unkindness is apparent in both the home and at work with 77% of people in Brighton wishing their bosses were softer. So, Andrex has decided that enough is enough; the people of Brighton need softening up!

So this week and as part of National Softie Week, Andrex will be ‘softifying’ Brighton city centre with its super ‘Softiesquad’. Being led by a comical Andrex Puppy ‘Softiemobile’ (think Dumb and Dumber van!), the Andrex Puppy man and a team of Softeners will be giving out thousands of FREE Andrex Puppy toys, loo roll vouchers, hugs and kisses hoping to generally inspire happiness, amusement and softness across Brighton.

The survey goes onto reveal that people in Brighton have voted their traffic wardens as having the most unkind job (38%), followed by nightclub bouncers (27%). However, people in Brighton have revealed a slight soft side by voting Dermot O’Leary as the biggest softie they most admire!

So can people in Brighton turn their meanness around and take a leaf out of Dermot’s book by becoming the softest place in Britain instead…?

Look out for the Andrex “Softiesquad” and go on, let your guard down and be a big softie for National Softie Week!
