Nerina Pallot at Komedia
Published 10th Jan 2007 by Chris Challis
After a year of touring up and down the UK with the likes of Suzanne Vega, Joseph Arthur and Sheryl Crow and a record four sessions with Janice Long on Radio 2, as well as sessions on Dermot O'Leary's Radio 2 show, Nerina Pallot will be introducing her beautiful new release 'Learning To Breathe' at Komedia on Thursday 1 February.
Jersey songwriter Nerina Pallot’s consummate ability to captivate and enchant her audience has afforded her a phenomenal live reputation. Her second album, the 2005 release Fires, was produced by Smashing Pumpkins producer Howard Willing and has been a phenomenal success in both the UK and the USA. Leading single, anti-war protest Everybody's Gone To War, was a Top 10 airplay hit reaching 3 in the chart. The equally successful Sophia followed this in October 2006.
"Pallot emulates that amazing era of 1970s great songwriting… a record of optimism and hope." Sunday Times
Pallot produces music that teams classical musical training with her love of country, folk and rock music - with influences including Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Rufus Wainwright. The Independent rated her live performance as 5-star and described Pallot as being ‘exceptional.'
NERINA PALLOT visits Komedia on Thursday 1 February at 8.30pm. Tickets are £12.50 adv/£14.50 on door available on-line or from the Box Office on 01273 647100 (booking fees apply).
