New Cocktail Menu @ Above Audio

New Cocktail Menu @ Above Audio
Published 13th Feb 2006 by Brightonlife Boozin 'n' Schmoozin Dept

As if Above Audio didn't have enough going for it already, they've just launched a new range of delicious contemporary cocktails. Anyone lucky enough to have stumbled upon the place last Monday night would have found Mark Rae and the Herbalizer spinning downstairs while snifters of the new cocktails were handed out upstairs. You would also have found some seriously distressed looking barstaff coated in mint, lime and rum as the baying hoards quaffed Mojito after Mojito. And still they flipped those mixing jugs with panache!

Some highlights of the new menu include:

? Mint Julip
Finest Kentucky bourbon, fresh mint, sugar and a touch of orange zest all composed tall over crushed ice - continues to perfect this classical seventeenth century drink to the satisfaction of the Kentucky Derby.

? Basil Grande
The B.G. muddles fresh strawberries and basil leaves, Stolichnaya vodka, Chambord raspberry liqueur, cranberry and Grand Marnier. All lovingly strained into a martini glass and finished off with a pinch of cracked pepper.

? Monkey Nut (Matt Standing)
The recipe blends equal parts of Myers dark rum with Frangelico liqueur, cr?me de banane, lemon juice and ginger syrup all shaken and strained into a martini glass with a zest of lemon - Frangelico cocktail competition, Southern runner-up 2004.

Not to mention a rather special creamy Daquari. Mmmmm.
