O2 Bubble Suite At Hotel Pelirocco
Published 23rd Jun 2003 by Sam Ross

Hotel Pelirocco are proud to announce the opening of their new suite enabled by mobile communications network O2.

To those in the know, Pelirocco is Brighton's sauciest stop over. All the bedrooms are themed around pop subculture, or have been conceptualised by visionary artists, maverick musicans and inspired individuals. James Reid, Asian Dub Foundation, Hysteric Glamour, Karen Savage and Skint Records are just a handful of the faces putting a name to the 19 individually styled bedrooms (each with a playstation console).

designed by interiors guru Shaun clarkson, who's past projects include Denim, Pop and The 10 Rooms (to name just a few), the "O2 Bubble Suite" captivates the imagination with a space inspired by curves, circles and the odd bubble! The colours and motifs, informed by O2's imprint, add to the room's cool and airy feeling, while the space is fitted with bespoke lighting and bedroom and living room furniture. A first for Brighton, the bedroom features and 8ft circular bed, with mirrored ceiling to match. The bathroom is reminiscent of spa living, with a giant, tiled plunge bath (big enough for two, three, four or more...), twin rainforest shower heads and pristine porcelian sinks.

the suite's centrepiece is the O2 technology area. Surrounding a 42" plasma screen guests can make use of the communications technology on offer, surf the net on specially selected sites or mess about on the Playstation console.

For the adventurous, an XDA (pocket PC) is also available for use, with a guide to Brighton's hotspots and a selection of the latest games. Artistic guests can even document their stay using the media messaging handsets, by sending an unlimited number of photo messages to friends.

Brighton has much to offer, although, "Do not disturb" and an early night has never been more appealing!
