?Phils Aerobics?

Workouts from the early 90?s used basic choreography in simple to follow short patterns, leg lifts in all directions, occasional change of direction but most of the intensity comes from repetition of basic moves like ?over the top? V steps, L steps, turn steps, lunges, squats and often co-ordinating arm patterns.

The instructor is skilled at teaching the moves and swiftly combining them into a flowing pattern that is not only a fantastic work out but more fun than any night out on the town.

The atmosphere alerts the senses ? from the extreme sports videos, old school tapes, psychedelic images to the ?no smoking? signs on the dance floor. The cashier on the door with drinks for sale is a nice touch. But what really does it for me is the instructor Phil? he?s got the moves that?s for sure - buns of steel. He?s wearing lycra and a bandana and he?s loving every minute ? that?s the beauty.

Its not exercise, its dancing. Part of the challenge is learning the choreography but when you?ve got it you can really start to enjoy it!

He does some floor moves, and although the glute thrusts are pretty erotic you?re just desperate to get back on your feet strutting your funky special. Its no new fad, no new fangled spinning class or core balls, it doesn?t just get inspiration from the 90?s? this is high energy aerobics and Phils been running the class at the same venue for 17 years ? the legend lives on!

Get you kit on and get yourselves down the King Alfred Suite Monday & Wednesday nights 6.30pm. Mention ?Brighton Life? to receive discounted entry of ?3 ? its well worth it!
