Promoters Bring Exciting New Live Music To Worthing
Published 3rd Jun 2006 by Hybrid Sound Promotions

Worthing has never been renowned for its vibrant music scene - that job was always left to Brighton! However, there has been a recent spate of interest in the town since the arrival of Hybrid Sound Promotions in March 2006 ? who are bringing the most exciting bands into town since goodness knows when.

Hybrid Sound consists of former Leicester Music Scene promoter and Concorde 2 assistant Gabi Jacobs and Worthing based IMadeThisRecords promoter, Nick Hatton. Gabi has worked with with bands such as Hell is for Heroes, Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs and Nick is currently the crew technician for Nine Below Zero, as well as clocking up a number of successful gigs in Worthing at The Beechwood and Vintners Parrot.

Hybrid?s first show together was on Sunday 25th April 2006 at Tides Nightclub, featuring Illuminati 3, With Scissors, Brandy Alexander and Phantom Baby, a successful night bringing in 90 people.

The promoters have now landed two Thursdays? a month at Occasions nightclub on Marine Parade, Worthing, and promise bigger and better things. The launch party is on Thursday 25th May featuring local indie band ?The Diagonals?, atmospheric Muse inspired rock outfit ?A Citizen Above Suspicion? from Brighton and London punk band The Cato Street Conspiracy, who are currently attracting label interest.

Through Gabi and Nick?s industry contacts with labels such as Smalltown America (founded by DIY heroes Jetplane Landing) Captains of Industry (Hell is for Heroes, Kinesis, Louie) various national press and PR agencies and of course, the infamous Club NME, Hybrid Sound Promotions will provide the town with top quality national touring bands as well as quality local acts and DJ?s.
