Brighton’s historic venue continues its monthly offering of retro club nights, alongside an exclusive show from singer songwriter Joseph Arthur.
With its vintage mix of theatre, dining, live showcases and club nights, Proud Brighton Ballroom is set for another unstoppable month of retro revelry. Highly acclaimed singer songwriter Joseph Arthur will be taking to Proud’s legendary stage. Boogalu Stu will once more return to the jewel of Kemptown with his monthly dose of Popkraft. For ultimate retro club-nights, Your Disco Needs You will transport guests back to the groovy 70s,while cabaret connoisseurs The Tusk & Garter Club will provide a vintage mash-up of retro hits from Brighton’s favourite decades of yesteryear. And finally, La Bordello Boheme is set to transform the venue into a circus of seduction.
Known for his melodic compositions, swirling choruses, and ever changing live performances, Joseph Arthur is set to grace Brighton Ballroom’s stage on Wednesday 4th May with a layered set of old and new hits. The critically acclaimed artist, whose tour takes him worldwide this summer, will be playing at the venue in the lead up to the highly anticipated release of his eighth studio album, ‘The Graduation Ceremony’.
Guests are invited to travel back to an era of mirror ball grooves, killer floor fillers and Studio 54-style disco euphoria when Your Disco Needs You returns to the Ballroom on Friday 6th May. Expect super-camp dance troupes, burlesque beauties, and chopped-out lines of sherbet all set out to enhance to the sub cultural Disco phenomena.
Boogalu Stu will also be making his monthly return to Brighton Ballroom to host his pop party overload with an unstoppable Popkraft line up on Saturday 7th May. Alongside a whole host of outrageously hedonistic party crafts and games, crazy Cabaret will come from the ever eccentric Dolly Rocket, whilst DJs The Size Zero,Albino, Darren Duran and Boogalu Stu himself will provide a pop fuelled soundtrack of feel good sing along anthems, luring guests into their world of authentic vintage glamour.
Friday 27th May will pay homage to old world glamour with The Tusk and Garter Club. With an unmissable programme of live music, eye-popping Cabaret, seductive burlesque and the ever popular opportunity to dress to the occasion and dance to the finest in jazz, blues, rock n roll and swing, Proud Brighton Ballroom recreates all the glamour and decadence of a bygone era.
Transforming the venue into a circus of seduction with an old fashioned Big Top tent, La Bordello Boheme present A Night at the Circus on Saturday 28th May. Expect over the top camp Cirque style grand productions with cabaret, variety, world renowned burlesque alongside huge scale circus acts. Famed for their Night in Wonderland, the collective will be adding a carnival of sensory pleasure to their usual magical menagerie.
