Quality Children's Theatre With The Musicians Of Bremen @ Komedia
Published 18th Feb 2010 by Komedia
With their audiences growing every year, and a dedication to the traditional style of commedia dell'arte, the Rude Mechanical Theatre Company is renowned for creating theatre that captures the imagination of the whole family.
“A cheeky, stylish performance that will surprise and delight both young and old.”
– The British Theatre Guide
Bruno, an old donkey, runs away to follow his dream of becoming a jazz musician, taking with him his gang of Alberta, a fox hound; Fritz, a red rooster; and a pretty cat called Cornelia. Together they create the jazz band The Musicians of Bremen, having many adventures along the way. The Musicians of Bremen is a lovely, hilarious and often tender telling of the Grimm Brother’s tale about ambition, friendship, loyalty and what it’s like to get old. A charming story told with live original music.
"A musical, educational & enjoyable experience. It put a smile on all the children’s faces"
– Charlene Low, Stratford Circus
The Rude Mechanical Theatre Company combine a comedic acting style with acrobatic movement and physical jokes, much of it part of a tradition that is hundreds of years old. Described by Gillian Christie (Tricycle Theatre) as a “very engaging and visual production” with its brightly coloured vibrant costumes and Pedroline style white faces, they create a visually stunning show whilst poetic solutions to storytelling are never far away as they constantly strive to exploit the poetic, fantastic and absurd.
Suitable for children aged 3 – 9 years old.
THE MUSICIANS OF BREMEN visits Komedia Brighton on Sunday 7 March at 2pm. Tickets are £8/£6 available on-line at www.komedia.co.uk/brighton or from the Box Office on 0845 293 8480.
