Scoot Around Brighton with Vroom By The Sea

Scoot Around Brighton with Vroom By The Sea
By Ali Rigby 28th May 2008

A brand new scooter rental company opening in Brighton gives visitors the chance to enjoy the funky city in true Quadrophenia style.  Brighton scooter rental company, Vroom by the Sea opened for business this weekend when it took delivery of its fleet of brand new Piaggio Vespas and Zips.

Vroom by the Sea rents scooters to visitors and residents for as little as half a day and as long as they fancy. The brand new fleet of Vespa scooters is based in Queens Place in Hove, just yards from the seafront and only 10 minutes from central Brighton.

Vroom by the Sea founder Phil Jones explained: "There can't be any other location in the UK more suited to scooter hire. Not only do you get around quicker and easier, you get to feel the vibe and enjoy cafe culture lifestyle that Brighton does so well and that was immortalised in the cult 1970's film Quadrophenia. "

"Nowadays, having your own wheels in the city means that you can get out and about easily; drive inland to Devil's Dyke where you can even have a spin in an Orb 360  or along the coast to the chalk cliffs of Seven Sisters."

Anyone who has had a full UK driving licence since before 1 February 2001 can rent one of the 50cc scooters, otherwise riders will need to have passed the CBT or other bike licence. Rental fees start at £20 per day for a Piaggio Zip or £30 for a Vespa LX50 including insurance.
