Shoebaby at Komedia
Published 22nd Nov 2006 by Chris Challis
Komedia is delighted to announce its Christmas show, Shoe Baby, which begins its seasonal run on Saturday 16 December. Developed and premiered at the Marlborough Theatre Brighton, Shoe Baby is a magical puppet show that tells the tale of a baby who takes to the sea, the air, the zoo all in a shoe! .This fantastical sing-a-long adventure is suitable for anyone between one and one hundred!.
'A great glittery adventure' Three Weeks magazine
Awarded Best Children's show of Brighton Festival 2006, Shoe Baby was created by Long Nose Puppets, an exciting new company set up by Polly Dunbar, who is an author/illustrator, and Katherine Morton, a puppeteer/illustrator. Katherine and Polly met at Brighton University where they studied illustration and often worked together creating characters and stories. They make all the puppets themselves out of anything and everything: latex, wood, found objects and all things sparkly!
Shoe Baby is adapted from the book written by well-known author Joyce Dunbar (Polly’s mum!), and is published by Walker Books. The music is written by talented musician Tom Gray, of the award winning band Gomez.
SHOE BABY visits Komedia on Saturday 16 December to Sunday 24 December. Shows begin at 2pm (16 Dec) and 11am & 2pm (17 – 24 Dec). Tickets are £8/£5.
