Soul To Soul And Cheek To Cheek At Hotel Pelirocco

Soul To Soul And Cheek To Cheek At Hotel Pelirocco
Published 15th Jan 2007 by Admin

Hotel Pelirocco Brighton’s sauciest stopover is launching two new bedrooms for 2007. “Soul Supreme” is a room dedicated to Motown music and another is cheekily called “Fancy Pants” - a room completely themed around knickers!

“Soul Supreme”, designed by Brighton creative Ruth Bartlett, is decorated in high shine Motown gold with undertones of dark and smoky purples. There is a shimmery, curtained, sleeping area where you can take centre stage and “Get It On” in your own Motown bedroom fantasy. The living area is adorned with a time line dating the important landmarks in soul history. For soulsters who sing into their hairbrushes whilst getting ready for a night on the tiles there is a vintage gold microphone to croon into. Sing-a-long to a selection of vinyl classics ranging from Marvyn, Stevie, Smokey and Aretha played on your very own vintage 60s turntable.

“Fancy Pants”, designed by, designer and Pelirocco employee Sam Zirkel is opulent, frivolous and fun. The coquettish colour scheme comprises of rock candy pinks, warm stone and Caribbean blue. Bum art adorns the walls and panties-wearing mannequins create bedside tables. “Ophelia Fancy”, Brighton’s saucy and burlesque lingerie designers, are donating frillys from their own panties collection. Plus there will be framed celebrity smalls donated from the likes of Zoe Ball, Jesse Wallace and The Cuban Brothers. Sam says about her inspiration for the room, “Think of a young Princess Margaret lounging in her panties on the Isle of Mustique, rich, opulent and oh so sexy”.

Open for seven years, Hotel Pelirocco, the original rock-n-roll hotel, has 19 bedrooms and all are themed around pop culture, music and art with names like Modrophenia, Durex Play Room, Betty’s Boudoir, Rough Trade Rough Nite, Pussy and The Pin Up Parlour. Prices start from £55.00 for a single room and doubles start at £95.00.
