Steve Ellis @ Concorde 2 On Thurs 5th June 2003
Published 2nd Jun 2003 by Alison
The East End boy with the voice that can move mountains ? acclaimed as one of the UK?s most exceptional singers ? Steve Ellis launches his stunning new Album ?A Sort Of Innocence? on June 5th at Brighton?s Concorde 2.
Originally the front man for outstandingly successful 60?s band Love Affair, Steve was catapulted at the tender age of 16 to the first of a series of top 10 hits with the classic ?Everlasting Love?. After forty years and a long and distinguished album and touring career, he has earned his place in UK pop music history and seen his name carved into the Brighton ?Walk Of Fame?.
The last 3 years have seen a massive surge of eight re-releases of classic Ellis albums as well as a live DVD recorded in the UK in 2002. Always fresh and creative, he?s spent the last year recording a new album of powerful and uniquely memorable songs including a stunningly beautiful and haunting new acoustic version of ?Everlasting Love?. Titled ?A Sort Of Innocence?, the album features the Ellis voice at its lifetime best, as well as sparkling performances from a wide variety of great musicians including long-time pals Roger Daltrey and Paul Weller.
When he takes to the stage at The Concorde 2 on June 5th, it will mark his musical return to his adopted home town of Brighton after decades of international touring. Those lucky enough to have got tickets will be treated to a stomping combination of material from the new album and a tribute to his early years in the industry, but most importantly, they?ll be treated to the outstanding talent that is Steve Ellis.
