With the release of their debut album in January, The Boxer Rebellion return to Brighton to promote their incredible new single Code Red (out 20.09.04).
Those who caught The Boxers? March gig in Brighton won?t forget just how amazing this band are live, creating a intense wall of sound, not unlike an MC5/Verve/Cooper Temple Clause merger, yet at the same time, so unlike anything you?ve ever heard before.
The Boxers have stepped up recently, with a new Universal/Poptones mega-deal, the inclusion of their debut single, Watermelon, on the Football Factory soundtrack, and a snippet of the same song accompanying the ITV Bad Girls advert. They also recently played to a massive crowd at Wembley Arena, supporting Lenny Kravitz, which has got to be a hint at where this band will be in a year or two?s time.
Support for this gig comes from the band who, fittingly, have supported Stellastarr*, Mew, Martin Grech, The Raveonettes and Alfie at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms. The Landing are a blinding 4-piece, originally from Portsmouth, but now based in Brighton.
And with the announcement of Echelon as guest tour support (who must be amazing too, as they?ve blagged a tour support with The Boxer Rebellion), this is gonna be THE gig of the year. You?ll see?
?There?s this quiet realisation brewing. among every person that sees The Boxer Rebellion live, that this really is what the world has been waiting for.?

?The Boxer Rebellion ? This is why you need music... Hoo-bloody-ray, this gentle psychedelic debut recalls an early Verve. It?s a rare breath of fresh air?
(The Fly)
?The Boxer Rebellion are a viciously rock and roll wet dream?
