The Brighton Swish - A Greener Way to a new Wardrobe

The Brighton Swish - A Greener Way to a new Wardrobe
Published 22nd Jan 2010 by Kelly Dibbert

We all love fabulous new clothes but not the unfortunate side effects. Our bank managers don’t understand the importance of shiny new shoes, and buying heaps of new stuff is pretty terrible for the planet. What’s a girl to do?

Swishing is shopping without these hangovers. We all bring nice, clean, presentable clothes that are lurking unloved in our wardrobe, and other girls fall in love with them and give them a good home. You might bring one sweater and take two pairs of shoes, or hang a party frock on the ‘Swishing Rail’ and take a pair of skinny jeans and feather boa.

The Brighton Swish - A Greener Way to a new Wardrobe, Saturday 13th February 2010, Latest Music Bar, 3-7pm, FREE (Women Only – this time)

The Art of Swishing involves getting your friends together to swap gorgeous clothes and party at the same time. Every lady must bring at least one good quality, clean item of clothing, or an accessory, that she'd feel proud to hand on.

(Please note the Brighton Swish Team reserve the right to not register bobbly, old, tired clothes)

Large sacks of designer frocks are also gratefully received. And people who bring along anyone else with a bulging wardrobe.

"Save money, save the planet, have a party: swishing effortlessly touches all of these buttons. Swishing parties are for all those women who want to combine glamour, environmental protection and frugality."

There will be taster sessions by local reflexologists, massage therapists & nutritionists and a style consultant and an alterations expert will be on hand for style advice.

Hopefully see you there.
